Marty Cordova of the Baltimore Orioles misses a fly ball against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Marty Cordova evidently didn’t get enough sun standing in the outfield for 162 games each year, so the Baltimore Orioles left fielder decided to go for a touch-up at a tanning salon. But when he fell asleep in the tanning bed, he emerged cooked. Doctors recommended that he stay out of the sun as the team traveled to California, causing him to miss at least one daytime game during the 2002 season.
