Toronto Maple Leafs' goalie Glenn Healy deflects a shot by Chicago Blackhawks' Chad Kilger during first period action December 11. SJO/RC
The Toronto Maple Leafs goalie was fond of jamming on the bagpipes, but in 2000, it was the pipes that jammed him. While cutting the bag off of one instrument, Healy slipped and gashed open the thumb on his left hand, requiring 10 stitches. Fortunately there’s no sad tune for Healy. The injury occurred in the off-season, so Healy was fully recovered in time for the Maple Leafs’ hockey season.
