Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner is facing a one-year suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, according to multiple media reports.

NFL.com first broke that Browner was facing suspension, citing union sources, while USA Today picked up the story earlier this week. Browner, who was suspended for the final four games of last season for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy, is apparently appealing this latest suspension.

Browner is the second Seahawk defensive back to face suspension in recent days. Cornerback Walter Thurmond was suspended four games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Thurmond initially challenged the decision, but later dropped the appeal in order to be available for a playoff run in December.

Browner is set to become a free agent in 2014, and if his one-year suspension is upheld, his career in Seattle is likely over.
