Team USA was soundly defeated Saturday in the bronze medal hockey game versus Finland, losing 5-0 to the Fins.
The game started off with a scoreless first period before Finland scored two goals in 11 seconds in the second, according to the Bleacher Report.
The U.S. team had a chance to win medals at two consecutive Olympics for the first time since 1956-1960, despite their dispiriting semifinal loss to Canada on Friday. But the two Finnish goals in quick succession in the second period squelched the team’s aspirations to take home medals. Teemu Selanne, the famed 43-year-old winger, scored two goals in what is likely his last international competition.
