Thanks to a win over the Detroit Tigers in Game 6 of the league championship series Saturday night, the Boston Red Sox are headed back to the World Series.
The Boston Globe described it as “eight days and six games of unforgettable baseball” that led the team to the World Series, which kicks off at Fenway Park Wednesday.
The Red Sox’s trip to the series was clinched by Shane Victorino’s grand slam off a pitch from the Tigers’ Jose Veras, crowning the Red Sox American League champions for the 13th time since 1901.
