As Sunday night came to a close, Chicago proved once more why this season they’re one of the most exciting teams to watch in the fourth quarter, clawing their way to a third straight win and leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers winless in 2013.
Late in the game, “Mr. Fourth Quarter” Jay Cutler’s 17-yard touchdown pass to Earl Bennett, along with Julius Peppers’ fumble recovery that led to a 42-yard touchdown return, cemented the Bears’ 40-23 win.
With the NFL entering its third week, the mighty continue to fall — hard. Eli Manning’s Giants (0-3) were dismantled in their latest loss this season as the Carolina Panthers (1-2) battered New York. Cam Newton racked up 223 passing yards in the Panthers’ 38-0 win.
Robert Griffin III failed again to rekindle last season’s magic as the Redskins (0-3) allowed the Detroit Lions (2-1) to grab their first away-game win against Washington in 74 years.
In Seattle, Russell Wilson led his team to another dominating victory over the Jaguars (45-17) and proved that the Seahawks (3-0) are the team to beat in the NFC West.
The Ravens, reigning Super Bowl champs, put on their best show of force this season against the Texans (2-1) on Sunday at home in Baltimore (2-1), with a 30-9 win after Houston’s star receiver Andre Johnson exited the game in the second quarter with a bruised shin. He is set to have an MRI on Monday.
