After two high-profile failures to win a medal in the Summer Games, Lolo Jones — who clipped a hurdle while holding a big lead late in the race in Beijing, and fell just short of bronze in London — is turning to the Winter Olympics, and bobsled. She’s tasked with pushing the sled at the top of the track, so it can build speed before twisting and curving toward the finish. Jones’ selection to the team has caused some controversy: did she make it because she’s an Olympic celebrity with a sizable social media presence? Or does her strength and speed translate nicely into bobsled? We’ll soon find out in Sochi.
