As the Houston Texans streamed toward the locker room at halftime Sunday night, their excitement over a successful first half turned to horror. Head coach Gary Kubiak collapsed while leaving the field during the home game against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Texans were up 21-3 when Kubiak dropped to his knees in apparent pain. He was quickly surrounded my medical staff and taken to the hospital by ambulance. As of early Monday morning, the Texans did not say what was wrong with Kubiak, but that doctors had ruled out a heart attack. Houston general manager Rick Smith told NBC that Kubiak “had an episode; he was light headed and dizzy,” but that he was awake and coherent at the hospital.

But it turned out to be a bad omen for the Texans — in the second half, the Colts rallied past the home team to claim a 27-24 victory.
