Chile and Ecuador are headed to the World Cup in Brazil next summer.

Chile claimed the third place slot in the South American qualifying group with their 2-1 win in Santiago on Tuesday over Ecuador, who managed to hold onto fourth place in the group.

Elsewhere on the continent, Uruguay failed to earn automatic qualification despite beating Argentina, who previously qualified along with Colombia. However, Uruguay still has a World Cup chance if it succeeds in an upcoming playoff, which begins with a match against Jordan next month.
