Michael Schumacher of Germany (left) shares a joke with his brother, Ralf, before the Hungarian Grand Prix at Hungaroring in Hungary, on Aug. 10 1997.
If Michael Schumacher hadn’t become one of the greatest drivers of all time, people would probably remember his younger brother, Ralf, much more than they do. Ralf’s six wins and 27 podium finishes, from 180 starts in 11 seasons (1997-2007), in Formula One shouldn’t be overlooked. Still, the fact remains that Michael won more World Championships (seven) than Ralf won races. Between 1991-1996, Michael had a quite ludicrous 91 wins and 155 podium finishes, as well as accumulating the most amount of championships, race victories, fastest laps, pole positions, points scored and most races won in a single season (13 in 2004). The Schumachers were the only brothers to win races in Formula One, and were the first to finish 1 and 2 in the same race (Ralf came first in Montreal in 2001). They repeated the 1-2 finish four more times.
