Those great rugby rivals, New Zealand and Australia, jointly hosted the first World Cup in the May and June of 1987. Both had high hopes of walking away with the Webb Ellis Cup. In the first semi-final in Sydney, Australia and France met in a game regarded as one of the greatest ever. Though Australia led three times, a late moment of magic from Serge Blanco, who scored this try in the corner, clinched a shock 30-24 win, sealing Les Bleus’ place in the final against New Zealand.
