1991 NBA finals
To this day, it’s still known simply as “the Move.” In Game 2 of the 1991 NBA finals, Jordan had the ball in his right hand as he soared between two Los Angeles Lakers toward the hoop. Somehow in midair he shuffled the ball to his left hand and scooped in a flying layup. “Oh, a spectacular move!” yelled NBC announcer Marv Albert. The Bulls went on to beat Magic Johnson’s Lakers in five games, earning Jordan his elusive first title. And thanks to NBC’s incessant replays of Jordan’s acrobatic maneuver, “the Move” became the most iconic basketball shot of the 1990s.
