A federal judge on Tuesday tentatively rejected a $765 million settlement the NFL reached with its 18,000 retired players over concussion-related brain injuries after the judge said the sum might be too small to cover all the players.

The judge noted in her ruling that the settlement is designed to cover the NFL’s retirees for 65 years, and expressed concern that not all retired players who may be diagnosed with brain trauma will be paid under the settlement, the Associated Press reports.

The $765 million-settlement proposes doling out $5 million for athletes with Lou Gehrig’s disease, $4 million for a death involving brain trauma and $3 million for dementia.
