Jameis Winston, quarterback of the Florida State Seminoles, speaks to the media during a press conference after the 2013 Heisman Trophy Presentation at the Marriott Marquis on December 14, 2013.

Florida State quarterback “Famous Jameis” Winston lived up to his nickname when he became the youngest college football player to win the Heisman Trophy Saturday night.

Winston, 19, finished with 668 first place votes and 2,205 points ahead of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron for the seventh-largest margin of victory in trophy history, the Associated Press reports. It was the second year in a row a freshman received college football’s most revered award.

“I can’t explain how truly intelligent he is,” his coach, Jimbo Fisher said. “He always wanted to know why he had success or why he had failure so he could either repeat it or fix it.”

The redshirt freshman soundly won despite an investigation last month into a year-old sexual assault complaint. A female student accused Winston of rape, but no charges were filed and the case was closed four days before votes were due.
