The Broncos added another record to their sensational season on Sunday after kicker Matt Prater sent a 64-yard field goal sailing through Denver’s mile-high air and in between the uprights at Sports Authority Field.

Following the record-setting kick that ended the first half, the Broncos went on to pummel the Tennessee Titans in a 51-28 win.

The new NFL field-goal record beats by 1 yard the previous record, which was set by New Orleans’ Tom Dempsey in 1970 and then matched by three other kickers over the course of 43 years.

An earlier version of this article misstated that Tom Dempsey played for the Green Bay Packers. Dempsey never played for the Packers and set the field goal record while playing for the New Orleans Saints.
