Fans are lashing out at University of Alabama kicker Cade Foster over their Iron Bowl upset to Auburn University Saturday.
Though the 22-year-old kicker wasn’t responsible for the final play that Auburn defensive back Chris Davis returned more than 100 yards for a shocking game-ending touchdown, he was 0-3 for field goals throughout the game.
More-than-disgruntled fans have taken to Twitter to air their grievances, threatening Foster’s life and telling him to drink bleach and never return to campus.
Foster has since pulled his name and photo from his Twitter profile, but he hasn’t deleted his account. Hundreds of supporters, including his teammates, have defended the kicker following the backlash.
The Tigers upset the No. 1 ranked Alabama 34-28 in what some consider one of the greatest endings to a college football game in history. The loss will likely thwart the Crimson Tide’s shot at winning a third consecutive national championship.
