Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers injured his left shoulder early Monday night in a game against the Chicago Bears and did not return for the rest of the game.

During the opening series of Monday Night Football, Rodgers landed hard on his left (non-throwing) shoulder when he was sacked by the Bears’ Shea McClellin. After being examined on the sidelines, Rodgers went to the locker room for further examination. He returned to the field dressed in a sweatshirt and watched the rest of the game from the sidelines.

After the game, Packers coach Mike McCarthy said that Rogers has a shoulder injury and that there is no timeline for an exact diagnosis. Without Rodgers, a former league MVP, the Packers fell to the Bears, 27-20.
