The Boston Red Sox celebrate after defeating the St. Louis Cardinals in Game Six of the World Series at Fenway Park in Boston, Mass., Oct. 30, 2013.

Boston Red Sox player and World Series Most Valuable Player David Ortiz and outfielder Shane Victorino will shed their playoff beards Monday.

The two players will shave their beards, which symbolized their journey from worst team in the league to World Series champions over the last decade, at the Gillette headquarters as a part of a promotion.

The Red Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals in a 6-1 victory Wednesday, marking their eighth World Series and rising from worst to first in the league.
