Kansas City Chiefs fans cheer while setting a world record as the loudest stadium crowd during the second half of an NFL football game against the Oakland Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013.

A month after Seattle Seahawks fans set a world record for the loudest sports crowd, fans at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium have taken that title away.

A representative for the Guinness World Records was in Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday when fans of the Kansas City Chiefs (who are 6-0 on the season) hit 137.5 decibels, breaking Seattle’s record of 136.6 decibels, set on Sept. 15. The record-breaking moment came during a routine defensive play against the Oakland Raiders.

Neither stadium is good for your eardrums. According to research at Purdue University, 130 decibels is roughly the noise level of a jet taking off from an aircraft carrier from 50 feet away.
