Eight months after the International Olympic Committee stripped Lance Armstrong of his bronze medal, the former biking champ announced on Twitter that he has returned the medal to IOC headquarters in Switzerland. “The 2000 Bronze is back in possession of @usolympics and will be in Switzerland asap,” wrote the 41-year-old in a post that included a picture of the medal.

Armstrong admitted to using performance enhancing drugs earlier this year in an interview with Oprah Winfrey. He has been stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and barred from future competitions, but he still has fans in the Twitter-sphere. “It’s yours, no one will ever take your memories,” wrote one of many supporters beneath the picture of the medal.
