As I see it, Robert Irsay bought the Baltimore Colts so that he could wreck it in such a way that would justify his moving the team out of Baltimore and to its current home in Indianapolis.
He turned a respectable franchise of class into a disrespectful franchise of clownishness. As former quarterback Bert Jones said, "It is tragic for the National Football League to be associated with Robert Irsay..
This list starts and ends with James Dolan. Never has an owner done so little with so much. I blame his father (and fellow owner) Larry Dolan for not giving him up for adoption at a young age instead of taking him on at Cablevision.
I understand that Americans are not big soccer fans, but Malcom Glazer, who owns Manchester United as well as Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is a leach sucking blood out of the venerated soccer club in northwestern England. While billionaire owners of Chelsea and ManU's city rival Manchester City have backing their respective teams generously, Glazer made ManU take on the debt he himself borrowed to take over the club. He is using the club primarily to line his pocket. ManU ended the last season with no trophy, and many wonder whether the team will now slip in the ranks in the league behind ManCity and Chelsea.
