Chipper Jones has played on the Atlanta Braves for his entire baseball career, but unfortunately he was not able to show the same fidelity in his marriage. The 39-year-old third baseman met and married his first wife Karin Fulford while playing in the minor leagues. Five years later, Jones publicly admitted that he’d had a year-and-a-half long affair with a Hooters waitress, with whom he fathered a child. Taking a page from the time-honored post-scandal PR book, Jones owned up to his dirty deeds and asked for forgiveness, saying, “I’ve messed up royally … I’ve committed adultery and I’ll pay for that the rest of my life.” After his subsequent divorce from Fulford, Jones remarried and now has three additional sons. Despite his personal struggles, Jones has remained a powerful presence on the field and a likable and respected one in the clubhouse for his tireless work ethic.
